Review by
Stevensons Scotland’s Good Hotel & Food Book
‘I had received some very good reports over the last 3 years about this establishment and I was not to be disappointed.
Resident proprietors Ian and Sylvia Bochel have built up an enviable reputation for true highland hospitality in a family atmosphere – more of a home than a hotel.
The property has unobstructed views over the Moray Firth and is set in attractive policies with ample parking.
Bedrooms are meticulous in every detail – bright and fresh with little added extras to ensure your comfort.
Ever changing daily menus provide an excellent choice – emphasis on real good home cooking here using fresh produce. Venison, pheasant, local lamb, and duck are a few of the options in addition to a variety of seafood. Puddings could not be faulted. To complete the dining experience – tea and coffee with mints in the conservatory.
An evening stroll along the beachfront with magnificent sunset was the perfect end to the day.
Every effort has been made at this hotel to make the guest feel at home and enjoy their stay.
This is excellent value for money.’

‘SUNNY BRAE HOTEL is a stylish and welcoming small hotel with stunning sea views over the Moray Firth. The bedrooms are attractively appointed with quality furniture and fittings.
Sylvia who is German is the chef – the menus have a distinct European influence with a strong emphasis on quality local produce.’
